Special Note: Mayacama is completely closed for our event on July-22nd, so the Silicon Valley Executive Network will be the only people on the golf course, which will add to the privacy for our experience. Mayacama is a spectacular private club in the wine country, a Jack Nickalus design with breathtaking views, and is very difficult to get access, even with reciprocation rights, so take advantage of our group's ability to have the course to ourselves this day.

Jeff Nolan (VP of Business Development & SaaS) leads NewsGator's Software-as-a-Service business, business development activities, and strategic relationships. Jeff
was previously the CEO of pioneering mashup company Teqlo and prior to
that led SAP's Apollo strategy group. Jeff served as a general partner
at SAP Ventures for almost a decade where he led investments in
internet infrastructure technology, open source, and what has become
web 2.0. With a lifelong interest in technology and its impact on
business and society, the Bay Area native has a technical background
and a natural curiosity about far too many areas to list
Jeff will explore some of the major and minor trends that are driving
the software business today, the least of which is the blurring of the
line between consumer and business applications that is driving every
aspect of business application software from how applications are
designed to how they are priced and sold. The elephant in the room is
the emergence of the social dimension in applications determining not
only the next hot categories of software and venture investment but the
emergence of an entirely new platform stack and new players driving
platforms. While Google could easily have been predicted a Microsoft
competitor, who would have thought that Amazon would emerge as a potent
threat? The generational shift is also informing the next generation
workplace as Millennials demand not only new messaging technologies and
rich mobile apps but also turn upside down the notions of what a
business exists to do, which is not only generate profit but also
provide socially aware and environmental workplaces.
