March-26-2010 Salesforce Business & Golf Event, at TPC Stonebrae
"This is a great opportunity
to network with senior executives and learn from them. While this was
my first SVEN event, I was delighted to discuss the topic of
applications of the future with the executive participants, as
referenced by the Salesforce.com presentation. Many of the members
provided valuable ideas and opportunities I found extremely valuable.
SVEN is an invaluable asset and forum to interact with the Silicon
Valley thought leaders"
Stewart Alsop, Partner, Alsop Louie
Jan-19-2010 Cisco Consumer Strategies Discussion with John Chambers & Cisco Executives
"I got to listen to John Chambers for an hour, talking
extemporaneously about how he manages Cisco, why the company is developing
consumer products, as well as responding to specific questions. Then I heard
three key executives dive deep into the consumer strategy. I walked away
thinking Cisco has a real shot at building a business and being really
impressed about how they are approaching it.
I also walked away wondering why I
hadn't been involved with SVEN much earlier."
Paul Fulton, VP/GM, Prosumer Business Unit, Cisco
Jan-19-2010 Cisco Consumer Strategies Discussion with John Chambers & Cisco Executives
"Great opportunity to network with senior executives and get an idea of the
industry vibe. While this was my first SVEN event, I was delighted to be able
to speak to the executive participants about Cisco's view in the "Prosumer" space. Many
of members provided valuable feedback and even potential business
opportunities. SVEN is an invaluable asset we have to interact with
the Silicon Valley thought leaders"
John Murphy, President & CEO, NDS
Jan-19-2010 Cisco Consumer Strategies Discussion with John Chambers & Cisco Executives
I thoroughly enjoyed my first SVEN event ... the Cisco
consumer strategy review with John Chambers and other Cisco executives was a tremendous session. Of particular note
[given my perspective running a company in the surgical imaging arena] was
the compelling progress regarding Telepresence and Flip Video. The
Network, and Video as THE killer app, rule the roost at Cisco.
Insightful, candid speakers related well to the broad, experienced
audience. I now look forward to hitting the links with
some of the SVEN crew during 2010.
Curtis Feeny, Partner, Voyager Capital
2009 Nov 4 & 5 Tech Summit at Cordevalle with IBM, Cisco, Intel, SAP, HP, and Oracle
"This was one of the best events I've been to in
a few years. The combination of the audience and the featured speakers
was just right. Having six of the top platform companies moderated by
Geoffrey Moore was a great format. I heard many people say that they
could not believe the candor of the speakers. Silicon Valley Executive
Network gets the credit for not only selecting the right companies, but for
getting the right people at these companies, who would be willing to step out
of the normal "party line" behavior that you see at much larger events.
The intimacy of the venue and size of the conference allowed all of us to visit
with whomever we wished, for as long as need."
Raj Nathan, Chief Marketing Officer & SVP, Sybase
2009 Nov 4 & 5 Tech Summit at Cordevalle with IBM, Cisco, Intel, SAP, HP, and Oracle
This was my first event and exceeded my expectations. The
business component of the event was very informative. Geoffrey Moore set
the right context and the participating companies exceed my expectations in
their candor about their own strategies and operational goals as well as their
view of the state of industry molded from their experience. I also found
it to be a great venue to meet others in the industry. Lastly, although I did
not play well, the golf outing was great and very enjoyable.
Flip Gianos, Partner, Interwest Partners
2009 Nov 4 & 5 Tech Summit at Cordevalle with IBM, Cisco, Intel, SAP, HP, and Oracle
"I have now been to a few of the SVEN events and they have uniformly been well done. What impresses me most is the high level access and
open candid communication between the attendees and the executives speaking. At
the recent Tech Summit at Cordevalle, Geoffrey Moore interviewed senior
executives from some of the largest and most important tech companies. IBM,
SAP, HP, Oracle, Cisco, Intel were represented and openly discussed their
product and technology plans for the future. They responded openly to questions
about concerns and opportunities. It was definitely worth the time."
Ellen Levy, Senior VP, Corporate Strategy, LinkedIn
2009 Nov 4 & 5 Tech Summit at Cordevalle with IBM, Cisco, Intel, SAP, HP, and Oracle
"Although
I had known about SVEN for quite some time, this was the first event I
was able to attend. The gathering provided an incredibly unique and
valuable opportunity to sit down and openly discuss the future of
platforms with executives from industry-leading companies such as SAP,
IBM, Intel, Oracle, HP and Cisco, moderated by Geoffrey Moore. Add to
it the chance to build relationships while out on a fantastic golf
course like Cordevalle, and you would be hard pressed to design a better,
more valuable event for executives."
Mike Clair, Chairman Phoenix Technologies
The Preserve Golf & IBM Cloud Computing Business Update
"I have been a member of SVEN for a couple of years, and
it just gets better with every event. Last week we played at the Preserve in
Carmel Valley, which is one of Tom Fazio's greatest architectural achievements.
It was a perfect day. At the Preserve, Jim Comfort, a veteran Senior VP of IBM, really explained the evolution of Cloud Computing and the depth and breath of
the industry's offerings, before he drilled down on the multiple options offered
by IBM. His slide presentation had great content and was thoroughly
enlightening, which made this complex topic much easier to understand for those
of us who are not focused in on the mainstream of Cloud Computing.
All around great day!"
Tom Marchok, Director Strategic Investments, Intel Capital
SF Giants-Dodgers AT&T Owners Suite and Google/YouTube Consumer Video Event
"The SVEN membership comprises a cross-section of executives
from across the Silicon Valley venture and business communities. Being
a member has not only enabled me to quickly and meaningfully expand my network,
but also to efficiently gain access to thought leaders and major business
trends. The Aug 11 SVEN event is a case in point... i.e., where
executives from YouTube gave an update on what is driving their business, and
internet video overall. Had I set out to look for that information
on my own, it would required considerable time to link to those people. Instead,
I was able to receive their insights by attending a very enjoyable and
insightful SVEN event, and received all the benefits of networking too."
Scott Irwin, Partner, El Dorado Ventures
SF Giants-Dodgers AT&T Owners Suite and Google/YouTube Consumer Video Event
"I appreciate the SVEN events for the high quality of content
and attendees. At the Giants game alone with Google/YouTube providing an
overview of Consumer Video, I made three new connections, each of which had a
positive impact on the projects I was working on. I try to make these
events as frequently as possible."
Sudhakar Ravi, CTO, Code Green Networks
Olympic Club Lake Course Business & Golf Event with Google Voice Presentation
"The event at Olympic Club was fantastic - golf at a world
renowned course, an insightful presentation about leading-edge technology
(Google Voice), and a small enough group where you get to meet most everyone.
This was my first time attending, and I hope to be part of many more.
Thank you for such a well-organized event."
Tom Williams, Partner, Cenarca Ventures
Olympic Club Lake Course Business & Golf Event with Google Voice Presentation
"I found the presentation on Google Voice very
enlightening. The participants asked engaging questions and offered
intriging suggestions to push the concept forward. Everyone
benefitted. Adding a terrific golf opportunity to play the Lake
Course was the icing on the cake."
Carl Amdahl, Partner, Doll Capital Management
Green Hills CC Future of Personal Computing, Business & Golf Outing
June-12-2009
"I really enjoyed my first SVEN event which
included a presentation by Stephen DeWitt, SVP&GM of the Personal
Systems Group at Hewlett Packard. The location was the beautiful Green
Hills Country Club, a challenging course designed by the renowned
Alister MacKenzie. The event was well organized and I found both the
golf and the conversation to be equally stimulating. I am looking
forward to attending more of these great events."
Chris Blocker, VP, Business Development, SlingMedia/Echostar
Green Hills CC Future of Personal Computing, Business & Golf Outing
June-12-2009
"This was my first SVEN event. It allowed me to connect with and learn about what key technology executives and venture capitalists see as critical aspects of their business and the markets in which they participate. The information was invaluable and the venue allowed the executive participants to have a relaxed, unhurried and thoughtful discussion outside of the context of a typical business venue.
Green Hills CC Future of Personal Computing, Business Discussion & Golf Outing
June-12-2009
"This was my 1st SVEN event. My expectations were high, and they were
exceeded. Between the discussion on HP's consumer business, Green
Hills CC - the Alistair McKenzie gem, and the amazing and welcoming
executive SVEN participants, it was one of the most enjoyable professional outings
I have attended. The business discussion and subsequent conversations
with the group led to some invaluable new ideas and insights for me."
Tom Doyle Parnter, Lightspeed Ventures
MPCC Future of Internet Advertising, Business Discussion & Golf Outing
May-22-2009
"Although it was my first introduction to a SVEN event and the Monterey Peninsula Country Club, I instantly felt welcomed by both. The ability to meet new business executives and inevitably new friends in such a fantastic forum is invaluable The presentation given by Matt Ackley, Vice President of Internet Marketing of eBay, was well thought out and packed with useful and relevant information. It was clear to me that everyone respects the integrity of this organization and each other which allowed for instant networking and meaningful discussions. I look forward to participating in many more events in the future."
Matt Ackley VP, Internet Marketing, eBay
MPCC Future of Internet Advertising, Business Discussion & Golf Outing
May-22-2009
"This was my first SVEN event and it was thoroughly enjoyable and well worth the time. The interactive discussion from the participants based on the content I provided was thought provoking, and the insights were incredibly valuable. It was a wonderful forum to play golf on a great course and meet some great new executive level folks in the high tech and venture capital industry. There will many interesting follow up business conversations as a result of this event".
Gary Kovacs, GM & VP, Mobile Solutions, Adobe Systems
Spyglass Golf & Venture Capital Ecosystem Discussion
March-12-2009
"I have attended a number of SVEN events and find the combination
of experienced and intelligent executives, world-class settings, and
rich debate on relevant topics has made each of the events both unique,
and a truly worthwhile use of time. The contacts made through SVEN
have now developed into an active business network that is valuable
both professionally, and personally. The recent event at Spyglass that
paired a "behind the scenes" view of the current state of the venture capital ecosystem with an epic day on the course, was yet another example of the
first class organization and quality that SVEN events have come to be
known for. I look forward to future opportunities to participate."
Dan Gravelle, CFO/Partner, Financial Leadership Group
Arizona Golf, Business, and Accenture MatchPlay Event
Feb 24-27
"I have attended a number of SVEN events, the AZ/Accenture event was my first over night event/trip. I felt it gave me a welcomed opportunity to get to really meet/know those on the trip. Once again, the networking was top notch, both for myself and for the others. We had VIP-Level/First Class service and access at the World Golf Championship Match Play Event...oh yea, dinner with Tiger Woods was cool too! Then there was the golf, three great courses, complimented by the great weather, dinners and wines. All I can say is, Thanks!"
Robert Locke, CEO, Vue Technology
Cisco Emerging Technology Summit, Facilitated by Geoffrey Moored
Jan-15-2009
"The event at Cisco was outstanding. The quality of the content was exceptional. Geoffrey
Moore's insights and moderation provided exactly the right balance of
depth and speed, allowing us to cover three complex topics in five
hours. This event also led to a meeting which may result in a valuable partnership for our company."
Dan Ahn, Partner, Voyager Capital
Cisco Emerging Technology Summit, Facilitated by Geoffrey Moore
Jan-15-2009
"I attended the event at Cisco and very much enjoyed it. It involved some key executives at Cisco, and utilized the state of the art Telepresence facilities, which was very cool. I was also able to bring one of my portfolio companies, in the IP Video space, which was very relevant and useful. Overall, very worthwhile."
Eric Filipek Principal, Kennet Ventures
Tehama Golf & Business Forum Dec-11-2008
"Tehama was another fantastic event.
SVEN continues to mature and one-time business acquaintances are
now becoming substantive contacts and friends. The group maintains
a strong blend of backgrounds and experience levels from the super successful
to the emerging leaders. This diversity plays perfectly to a round
of golf whether one is on the giving or receiving end of coaching, advice
or experience sharing."
The Preserve Golf, Public Markets & Macroeconomic Discussion Nov-11-2008
"Entrepreneurial
businesses require executives to bring new and imaginative perspectives
to a rapidly shifting marketplace. The dialogs at SVEN events provide
great context and stimulate new thinking, in a context where people can
exchange points of view in a relaxing setting. Oh, and the golf is
pretty good too. This latest event at the Preserve is a perfect
example. We got great macroeconomic perspective from world-leading
experts, exercised the topic thoroughly, and then played a magnificent
course."
Tom Bevilacqua, Partner, VantagePoint Venture Partners
The Preserve
Golf, Public Markets & Macroeconomic Discussion Nov-11-2008
"I have now attended several of the SVEN events (some with golf, others without)--and each of them have been extraordinarily worthwhile. Rarely do we have the opportunity to combine valuable business content, discussions and networking with golf at outstanding venues. Yet that is exactly what SVEN and its coordinating founder/host deliver. I look forward to future events and strongly encourage my colleagues to participate."
Rick Thau Exec Mgmt & Board Member, Various High Tech Companies
The Preserve Golf, Public Markets, & Macroeconomic Discussion Nov-11-2008
"The SVEN event at the Preserve was enjoyable, educational,
and very well done. It was an outstanding effort bringing together interesting
and dynamic folks in an environment of openness and information sharing. The
discussion and information sharing by Greg Johnson and Rich Wolf from the
Capital Group was both timely and eye opening. The ability to discuss this in a
friendly environment (with world class golf) was superb. I look forward
to attending other great SVEN events in the future."
Rodi Guidero General Counsel, Velocity Interactive Group
The Preserve Golf, Public Markets, & Macroeconomic Discussion Nov-11-2008
"While I
have been a SVEN member for some time, this was my first event and my
first opportunity to see what I've been missing! World class golf, timely
and thoughtful discussion and a great group of executives and venture capitalists to network with.
This was a wonderful event and SVEN is clearly a great organization.
I was delighted to participate and look forward to the next event."
Clint Korver Serial Entrepreneur & CEO, DecisionStreet
Cordevalle Golf & Mobile Technology Discussion Oct-14-2008
"What a fabulous combination...great people, great conversations, great golf. This was my second SVEN event and I'm hooked. Gary Kovacs (VP/GM of Mobile Products of Adobe Systems) gave a provocative talk about the future of the mobile market. The small number of attendees (16 venture capitalists, entrepreneurs, and tech executives) created an intimate setting, making it surprisingly easy to meet and get to know people. SVEN has become a core activity for me in building my professional community in Silicon Valley."
Curtis Feeny, Partner, Voyager Capital
Sharon Heights Golf & Global Venture Capital Discussion Sept-23-2008
"Don Wood's presentation about Draper Fisher Jurvetson's view of the global venture capital market were extremely valuable, as well as the lunch discussion about the state of the public financial markets. I am impressed by the level of technology executives, venture capitalists, and entrepreneurs that attend the events, including this one...it's a perfect mix of elite core Silicon Valley people. The golf was fantastic as well. I'm looking forward to the next event !"
Josh Becker Partner, New Cycle Capital
Sharon Heights Golf & Global Venture Capital Discussion Sept-23-2008
"I very much enjoyed my first SVEN event. The lunch discussion was
informative and interesting. Don Wood from DFJ gave an excellent
presentation about global venture capital. I saw some old friends and
met some people that I will certainly stay in touch with, both
VC's and entrepreneurs (one I am meeting next week to review a
business plan). Golf was fun (and not just because my team had the
lowest score :-)) "
Jeff Hastings, President & GM Digital Media Corel
Intel & Intel Capital Business, Technology, and Investing Discussion Aug-28-2008
"The Intel event was an excellent opportunity for me to
both learn about the plans that Intel has around their product lines and investment
strategy with Intel capital and to meet other SVEN members. I had some great
conversations about new business opportunities with the other attendees that
would have been difficult to get started through the normal biz dev channels.
When you can meet directly with 20+ key executives in one setting, you can have frank
discussions without all of the dancing around that usually takes place to determine
if there is a real opportunity or not. I really enjoyed the event and it
was a very productive afternoon."
Rich Arnold, COO/CFO Phoenix Technologies
Intel & Intel Capital Business, Technology, and Investment Discussion, Aug-28-2008
"The afternoon at Intel was not only most interesting and highly
informative but provided an exceptional opportunity for intimate discussions
with a number of fellow SVEN members as well as with the Intel and Intel
Capital folks. This was not simply one of those events where one politely
exchanges business cards, but
a genuine case of new business opportunities being discussed excitedly among
people who all have the resources at their disposal to investigate new ideas
and the executive capability to truly make things happen. I am
sincerely glad I attended!"
Jeff Yu, Managing Director, The Angels Forum
Intel & Intel Capital Business, Technology, and Investment Discussion, Aug-28-2008
"The Intel event was a really efficient way to get an update on
where Intel and Intel Capital are headed, as well as connect up with peers, high tech executives, and venture capitalists in the
industry. The business value was that I was able to initiate conversations
around deal syndication. These private corporate events are a nice complement to the golf outings."
Tom Williams, Private Investor, Entrepreneur, & CEO, Cenarca
Mayacama Golf Outing & Software Industry Discussion, July-22-2008
"The objective of the Silicon Valley Executive Network is to create an unfettered interaction between CEOs, entrepreneurs, venture capitalists and bankers that is unique in the technology industry. At the Mayacama event with 30+ executive participants, I was able to discuss my plans and ideas and get immediate feedback openly and in a constructive manner. I look forward to future events and advancing the new personal connections that I have made."
Bill Stuntz, Vice President & General Mgr, Physical Security Business Unit, Cisco Systems
Mayacama Golf Outing & Software Industry Discussion, Juy-22-2008
"SVEN is valuable to me on many levels. Playing golf in magnificent settings like Mayacama (#66 on Top 100 courses) provides a unique, natural foundation for creating business discussions and contacts. SVEN has allowed me to meet interesting, accomplished technology executives and venture capitalists who are core to the Silicon Valley technology ecosystem, and initiate longer term relationships. And by the way, the golf has been great as well."
Brian Connors Partner, Formative Ventures
Mayacama Golf Outing & Software Industry Discussion, July-22-2008
"I was fortunate to be invited to my first SVEN event at highly ranked Mayacama Golf Club, and knew it to be a world class, invitation only golf venue. At this event, I made several business contacts that were very valuable to me, and I was surprised at the number of technology executives and venture capitalists that made the trip (over 30 attended). This is the real deal."
Greg Robinson Partner, Peninsula Ventures
Mayacama Golf Outing & Software Industry Discussion, July-22-2008
"The Mayacama SVEN event was first class from start to finish. The opportunity to spend the afternoon on a world class Top 100 golf course surrounded by so many interesting and dynamic executives is what SVEN is all about. From the wonderful food and service, to the business discussion led by Jeff Nolan, to the wonderful setting, the event did not disappoint. I look forward to attending other great SVEN events in the future."
Mike Clair, Chairman, Phoenix Technologies
Olympic Club Lake Course & Digital Media/Gaming Discussion June-19-2008
"The Lake Course at Olympic Club (#23 on Top 100) is always great, but meeting other business executives and learning about and discussing interesting topics like Digital Media add to the enjoyment. Sign me up again! "
Steve Metzger, CEO, VT&T
Pebble Beach Business & Golf Summit May 27/28, 2008
"This event was excellent. The venues were first class, but the enduring value was the ability to
engage in discussion, debate and brainstorming with Geoffrey Moore,
clearly one of the most important thinkers of our time, in addition to a dozen
participating CEO's and Venture Captialists. The discussions were very imortant as
they were centered on changes that are happening very rapidly in tech,
culture, consumer and the enterprise. We explored business models,
adoption behaviors, and dispersion patterns in the new and upcoming
collision of consumer and enterprise purchasing power.
I am not sure that this level of interaction would be possible at any
other event. (Besides - I parred 18 on Spyglass and we outran the
presses!)"
Bob Pavey, Partner, Morgenthaler Ventures
Pebble Beach Business & Golf Summit May 27/28, 200
" The 2-day Pebble Beach business & golf summit with Geoffrey Moore facilitating the business discussions was excellent. This was my first and I look
forward to more - particularly some one day events on the peninsula -
getting away for two days is not easy (but really worthwhile for me).
This was a good opportunity to catch up with old friends and make new
ones, while playing on some of the world's best golf venues.
Woody Hobbs CEO, Phoenix Technologies
Pebble Beach Business & Golf Summit May 27/28, 2008
"This was my first SVEN event and I really enjoyed it! The golf was
great and we were blessed with the best weather possible. It was extremely valuable to
meet with other executives and discuss our various businesses issues. Of course we covered politics, religion and other
controversial topics over dinner and those discussions were even more
entertaining! "
" I thoroughly enjoyed my first SVEN golf event (Cordevalle on April 23rd with cleantech update). Everything was first class. Beyond a first rate golf experience, there was a truly great group where I made some valuable business contacts. I would encourage anyone who has not yet been able to join an event to make it happen...you will be glad you did. I will definitely be out there again."
"The Cordevalle golf and CleanTech event was the first I could free up to attend. It was terrific. David Dreessen from Battery Ventures led a highly engaging discussion on a topic that was relevant to all attendess personally and professionally. Great golf, great people, great discussion. Seems to be a recipe for success, and I'll be prioritizing future SVEN events on my calendar."
"The Cordevalle event was outstanding experience. The golf was excellent
as was the discussion. Dave Dreesen of Battery Ventures did a fantastic job of distilling the challenges facing the investment community for cleantech investing at reasonable valuations. I look forward to the next event."
Brett Hooper, SVP, JDS Uniphase
Monterey Peninsula Country Club, March-28-2008
"Fantastic day from beginning to end. The post golf event provided a special ambiance that potentially may never be matched. All enjoyed golfing at MPCC, it truly is a top 100 course. This event included spouses, which provided for a variety of rich conversations. SVEN continues to provide the right environment to engage and exchange information on relevant topics."
David Spreng, Partner, Crescendo Ventures
Arizona Golf Trip, March 3-6, 2008
"The Scottsdale-Arizona SVEN event had fantastic premium golf, comradery, business discussions, and fine dining. We had access to 2 very exclusive and highly ranked private courses (Mirabel and Desert Forest), as well as playing the top 2 resort courses (Troon North and Wekopa). The trip was very well organized from beginning to end. More SVEN members should consider the multi-day golf outings."
Jim Comfort, VP, Workload Optimized Systems, IBM
Cordevalle, Feb-13-2008
" I found the Feb. 13th SVEN event at Cordevalle very useful as a networking event. There were 3 distinct contacts made within just that one session that were all worth follow on dialogue with potential for meaningful business engagement. The event itself was excellent and well organized with ample opportunity for socialization. It is wonderful to have this type of combined social and business networking event which facilitates establishing personal communciation and relationships that support longer term business relationships."
Dan Eckert CEO, PolyRemedy
Cordevalle Golf Event, Feb-13-2008
"The event at Cordevalle was my first with SVEN and I thoroughly enjoyed it. It was a great mix of golf and networking. I was able to make some great personal and business connections. I look forward to participating in future events."
Tim Laehy CFO, MetroFi
Cisco Business & Technology Event, Jan-10-2008
"Along with offering its members opportunities to play some of the country's most desirable golf venues, the Silicon Valley Executive Network raised the bar when it expanded its events to include a day behind the scenes with Cisco's Emerging Technology Group. It was fascinating to hear Cisco's of VP Emerging Technology & Business Incubation discuss the strategy, focus, and appetite of his organization. I am looking forward to attending other similar events."
Curtis Feeny, Partner, Voyager Capital
Cisco Business & Technology Event Jan-10-2008
"I found the Cisco SVEN event to be one of the better such events I've been to this past year. Having Didier Moretti (Cisco VP, Incubation) and Vish Iyer (Cisco Product Mgr, Unified Communication) talk candidly about Cisco's Emerging Business strategy and integration of WebEx was very interesting. Then getting the Telepresence demo and the Sports Stadium demo topped it off nicely. Turns out my deal flow got a nice boost with some impromptu discussionis w/ some of the companies and VCs that attended the dinner."
Gregg Adkin Partner, Valley Ventures
Cisco Business & Technology Event Jan-10-2008
"The Cisco Business and Technology event on Jan. 10th was my first SVEN event. It was an excellent forum for me to meet many of the SVEN members and learn about Cisco's Emerging Technologies Group. The presenters did an excellent job showing how the Company will develop new technologies and partner with VCs and others. The demos were outstanding and really show cased the technology. The dinner following the event was a valuable networking event. I met several CEOs and VCs working in areas related to my focus. Overall, it was an excellent first event for me.
Steve Smith, Senior VP, Sales Intelleflex
Lake Merced Golf Outing, Dec-11-2007
"I find the Silicon Valley Executive Network both a valuable and enjoyable use of my time. Their featured speakers and networking opportunities, coupled with outstanding venues, strike the right balance between professional and personal value. It is of high quality in all regards and I would strongly recommend it for future invitees. I am looking forward to attending several 2008 events".
Todd Jacquez-Fissori Partner, Siemens VC
Lake Merced Golf Outing, Dec-11-2007
"The SVEN is a strong executive level networking organization creating small venues where members can engage one another in a social environment. The membership encompasses a range of venture capitalists, entrepreneurs, and other core leaders in the Silicon Valley high tech community. It provides me with a valuable environment for business development opportunities balanced with extroardinary golf venues. I have participated in 2 events to date, and plan to participate on an ongoing basis."
Pasatiempo Golf Outing & Venture Industry Discussion, Nov-15-2007
" There are only a handful of pleasures in life that compare with playing golf on a weekday. Add to that the opportunity to play on a superior course with concierge-like service from your host, and the list gets smaller still. And for those who need to add business justification to offset sheer indulgence, it is a great opportunity to catch up with friends, colleagues, and high level technology executives you would not otherwise see to discuss both current agenda items, emerging technology, as well as industry trends.
Really, you have to ask yourself, why am I not doing this? "
Jim Marshall, Partner, Selby Ventures
Pasatiempo Golf Outing & Venture Industry Discussion, Nov-15-2007
"What the Silicon Valley Executive Network is accomplishing is simply brilliant...extraordinary golf and business networking with leaders in the Valley who are shaping the next technology revolution. I'm thrilled to be a part of it."
Brett Queener, VP WW Ops, Salesforce.com
Pasatiempo Golf Outing & Venture Industry Discussion, Nov-15-2007
" SVEN is a great opportunity to network with other high-level executives in a forum which allows you to get to know folks really well over a four-hour period - golf. We could not have had a better afternoon...great weather, great golf on the restored McKenzie track at Pasatiempo, and great conversations. I will definitely participate in as many of these events as my schedule and spouse allow."
"I found the Silicon Valley Executive Network event at Cordevalle to be outstanding:. Great golf, terrific networking opportunities and fresh and actionable insights from other leaders in the local high tech community. I believe that the SVEN concept is original and of great value to all participants, and I very much look forward to the next event. I would encourage anyone with the joint passions of high tech business and golf to consider joining us."
Nariman Teymourian
CEO, Quikcycle
Lake Tahoe Golf Trip (Sept 23-25) & Cordevalle, Oct-16-2007
"I have attended the first two events of the Silicon Valley Executive Network and I have been very impressed with the quality of the outings and the attendees. I have played in many similar events and have been member of several different executive networking groups, however SVEN is unique in many ways. The events are small and very well organized, the attendees are senior executives and the venues are absolutely first class. It is hard to get all of these in the same event. I am planning to attend as many of these events as my schedule permits."
"The Silicon Valley Executive Network is a unique networking group which sponsors golf events combined with interesting speakers that provides an easy way to socialize with other executives. I attended my first event and was able to meet some old friends and make contact with some new executives who have significant business opportunities for my company."
Lake Tahoe Golf Trip (Sept 23-35, 2007) & Cordevalle, Oct-16-2007
"As an attendee for the first two events of the Silicon Valley Executive Network, Cordevalle & Lake Tahoe, I am extremely impressed with the high quality of the people in attendance, the overall organization and planning, the business networking opportunities, and the access to private clubs and other premium golf courses. This is a unique and valuable concept. I plan to attend various events on an ongoing basis."
"I have been looking for an executive networking forum that is different from the usual "meet and greets" and believe I have found it in the Silicon Valley Executive Network. This forum brings together great golf and great executives in a relaxed environment that allows for a more in-depth dialog with other executives in the area. This is a network I plan on being involved in for years to come."
"Thank you for arranging a first class event for our membership. I have been fortunate enough to play in many events and this one ranks right at the top. Cordevalle is a superb setting for golf, food and fun. The most valuable aspect of the day was meeting many new faces and establishing strong bonds on and off the golf course with Silicon Valley leaders. I look forward to future events."
"The event held at Cordevalle was excellent. A great group of guys, good conversation and golf! Dean Sivara's talk about Cisco's Emerging Technology group was inspiring. The dinner at the winery was first class, and it kept things interesting yet casual."
